Shocking Allegations: South African Gospel singer Kelly Khumalo accused of orchestrating boyfriend’s murder

In a surprising turn of events, a South African court heard on Wednesday that gospel singer Kelly Khumalo allegedly ordered the murder of her then-boyfriend, football star Senzo Meyiwa, who was shot in 2014 while trying to protect her from armed robbers.

The lead investigator, Bongani Gininda, stated in the Gauteng High Court that Khumalo orchestrated a «contractual assassination or hit».

The trial has captivated the nation, as five suspects were arrested in 2020, and the court is currently determining the admissibility of their confession statements.

Khumalo’s spokesperson expressed confidence in the legal process, stating that her legal team is actively addressing the situation.

The case alleges a complex web of connections between Khumalo and the suspects, involving communication records and a photograph of money found on both her and one of the suspect’s phones.

The trial has unveiled a turbulent relationship between Khumalo and Meyiwa, shedding light on a deeply unsettling chapter in South African celebrity life.
