Togo – Congo / Visit by Togolese President Faure Gnassingbé to Congo: Strengthening ties of friendship and cooperation

In a gesture underscoring the significance of bilateral relations, the President of the Republic of Togo, Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé, embarked on an official visit to Congo on Tuesday, February 13, 2024.

Warmly welcomed by his Congolese counterpart, Denis Sassou-Nguesso, upon arrival in Brazzaville, this visit holds particular importance in the context of consolidating the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two African nations.

During this meeting, the two heads of state engaged in one-on-one discussions, where they examined various aspects of bilateral cooperation.

The talks focused on economic, trade, and environmental areas, reflecting the shared determination to strengthen exchanges and investments between Togo and Congo.

Beyond economic matters, Presidents Faure Gnassingbé and Denis Sassou-Nguesso also addressed security and political issues.

 Peace and security, both at the regional and continental levels, were at the core of their discussions, emphasizing the importance of close collaboration to tackle common challenges.
