DRC: President Félix Tshisekedi pledges to improve the business climate in his second five-year term

During the second cabinet meeting held on Friday, June 21, President Félix Tshisekedi emphasized the importance of improving the business climate to attract more investors to the country.

In this meeting, the President reiterated his commitment to making the improvement of the business environment a fundamental and essential pillar of public policies.

These policies aim to define and implement reforms that address the concerns of economic operators.

He noted the efforts made by various reforming ministries over the past five years, while acknowledging that significant expectations remain due to the low implementation rate of reforms. The first edition of the national business climate barometer, along with other ad-hoc reports, confirmed that economic operators face real challenges that need to be addressed,” Félix Tshisekedi stated in the meeting summary read by the government spokesperson.

The government had committed to undertaking practical and appropriate reforms and measures to address the issues faced by economic operators, with the goal of making the business environment more favorable and attractive.”

The President reiterated his determination to continue evaluating reforms related to improving the business climate.

To this end, he tasked the Prime Minister with supporting the various reforming ministries to achieve their assigned objectives.
