Côte d’Ivoire/Food: When will the popular beverages return to the market?

It is well known that alcoholic energy drinks have become very popular in many African societies in recent years.

These drinks are highly favored for their stimulating effects, their content of synthetic or natural caffeine, vitamins, and other natural substances.

Many people consume them to stay awake, boost their energy levels, get motivated, enhance sports performance, or simply to party.

Unfortunately for loyal consumers, some of the most popular brands of these drinks have been off the market for several months.

In Côte d’Ivoire, authorities decided to suspend the sale of these drinks for about five months to take necessary measures to prevent abuse and irresponsible use, such as mixing them with drugs for added potency.

To date, there has been no indication of their return to the market. It’s also important to note that their popularity had made them a source of livelihood for many merchants.

Therefore, it is crucial to find a quick solution for the well-being of citizens and the economy, as that is the core issue.
