Morocco and Argentina secure quarter-final spots in 2024 olympics

In the early evening matches on Tuesday, Morocco, Argentina, Iraq, and Ukraine took to the field for the final day of the group stage in the 2024 Olympic Games. Both the Atlas Lions and the Albiceleste emerged victorious, securing their places in the next round.

 

At the Allianz Riviera, Morocco faced off against Iraq and quickly took control of the match.

 

By the 20th minute, Amir Richardson had opened the scoring for the Atlas Lions with a decisive pass from Achraf Hakimi.

 

Just nine minutes later, Soufiane Rahimi doubled Morocco’s lead in a game they thoroughly dominated.

 

Abdessamad Ezzalzouli added a stunning third goal in the 36th minute, sealing a comprehensive 3-0 victory for the Moroccan Olympic team.

 

With this win, Morocco topped Group B and advanced to the quarter-finals.

 

Argentina also confirmed their qualification with a strong performance in their match, ensuring both teams progress to the next stage of the competition.

 

Morocco’s commanding win not only highlights their attacking prowess but also underscores their defensive solidity, as they kept a clean sheet throughout the match.

 

The Atlas Lions now look ahead to the quarter-finals with confidence, having demonstrated their ability to perform under pressure on the Olympic stage.
