France stuns Canada in Basketball Quarter-Finals at Paris 2024 Olympics

The French basketball team made a stunning comeback by defeating Canada 82-73 in the quarter-finals of the Paris 2024 Olympics.

After a heavy loss to Germany (71-85), the French squad showcased a determined and combative spirit.

Guerschon Yabusele, who scored 22 points, downplayed the team’s transformation, stating, “There was nothing special. We played like we know how to play.

His reaction highlights the players’ resolve to overcome criticism and prove their worth.

Evan Fournier, repositioned as a substitute, was crucial with 15 points. He noted that recent criticisms of coach Vincent Collet had fueled the team’s motivation.

Both Mathias Lessort and Collet emphasized the importance of the players’ mindset and commitment in securing this victory.

Nicolas Batum mentioned a sense of revenge after last year’s defeat against Canada in the 2023 World Cup.

Isaïa Cordinier, with his 20 points, was a key factor in this triumph.

This performance revives hope for the French team, who will face Germany in the semi-finals on Thursday.

Batum expressed the team’s determination to meet this challenge head-on, despite their previous loss to the reigning world champions.
