Teddy Riner’s triumphant Homecoming: Celebrating Gold in Guadeloupe

Teddy Riner, the five-time Olympic judo champion, made a triumphant return to his native Guadeloupe for a 24-hour visit to celebrate his two latest gold medals with the local population.

 

Greeted like a superstar, Riner was met with acclamations, chants, and dances from a dense crowd at the airport.

 

Expressing his gratitude and love for Guadeloupe, Riner emphasized the importance of thanking the people who have supported him throughout his career.

 

In Pointe-à-Pitre, more than ten thousand people, waving Guadeloupean flags, joined the celebrations as Riner paraded through the city with the Akiyo group, culminating in a visit to the Mémorial ACTe and the Guadeloupe velodrome.
