The President of Faso, Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, granted an audience this Friday morning to a delegation of organisers of the first edition of the summer university for young people from member countries of the Confederation of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES).

The meeting is part of an initiative to strengthen regional cooperation and promote the involvement of young people in the socio-economic development of the Sahel region.

The delegation, made up of the Ministers for Youth and Sport from Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger, came to give President Traoré an update on the activities of the summer university, and to seek his advice and guidance on the next stages of this ambitious project.

During the audience, Captain Ibrahim Traoré welcomed the initiative, highlighting the importance of involving young people in the decision-making process and in the development of the sub-region.

He emphasised that this summer university is a valuable platform for exchanging ideas, promoting solidarity between ESA member countries and strengthening collective resilience in the face of common challenges.

President Traoré also encouraged the young participants to embrace the values of unity, hard work and solidarity, which are essential for building a better future for the Sahel’s future generations.

He urged the governments of member countries to give greater support to these initiatives, which enable young people to become actively involved in the political, economic and social life of their respective nations.
