Niger’s grand chancellor commends Burkina Faso’s indigenous model of honorary medals

On Thursday, November 14, 2024, Colonel Issaka Labo Bouché, Grand Chancellor of Niger’s National Orders, praised Burkina Faso’s locally produced honorary medals as a commendable example of sovereignty.

Following his meeting with Burkina Faso’s President, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, Colonel Labo Bouché highlighted this initiative during his working visit to the “Land of Upright People” and his discussions with his Burkinabe counterpart.

Under President Ibrahim Traoré’s leadership, Burkina Faso has embraced the internal production of decorations by local artisans as part of a broader vision of sovereignty.

This approach aligns with the government’s commitment to promoting indigenous expertise across various sectors, reflecting a focus on national self-reliance.

Colonel Labo Bouché expressed admiration for this initiative and noted Niger’s intention to adopt a similar model for its own honorary distinctions.

He emphasized that such efforts could further strengthen ties between the three member nations of the Sahel States Alliance (AES), which share a unified vision of complete sovereignty and development rooted in their local capabilities.

The leaders of National Order institutions in the AES region aspire to foster collaboration and pool resources to achieve shared goals, promoting a collective approach to sovereignty and sustainable development within the alliance.
