Burkinabe citizens stand firm in Support of National security and sovereignty

The people of Burkina Faso remain steadfast in their commitment to supporting the authorities in reclaiming full control of the national territory and restoring peace and security.

Many continue to show solidarity, whether by aiding frontline forces—both Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP)—or by assisting war victims, including displaced persons, widows, orphans, and wounded soldiers.

This patriotic mobilization is a direct response to President Ibrahim Traoré’s call for collective efforts in the nation’s fight against terrorism and its supporters.

In line with this, the government recently extended the Patriot Support Fund (FSP) to further strengthen counterterrorism efforts and contribute to national development.

Recent acts of generosity, such as those seen in the Cascades region, highlight the growing civic engagement.

Civil society organizations in the region raised 1,500,000 FCFA during a demonstration in support of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES), directing the funds to the FSP.

Similarly, Burkinabe writer Philippe Néré Kouthon Nion donated 540,000 FCFA to support peace efforts.

These contributions reflect the deep sense of patriotism and solidarity among citizens, who remain resolute in their support for national sovereignty, development, and the fight against terrorism and neo-colonial influence.
