Burkina Faso/Effort for peace: Burkina Faso diaspora committed to supporting their nation

Beyond the borders of the “Land of the honest People,” initiatives are multiplying to support the reconquest of territory and the eradication of terrorism. Recently, the Burkinabe diaspora residing in Gabon mobilized an impressive sum of 19,115,500 CFA francs. This fundraising effort, organized at the initiative of the Embassy of Burkina Faso in Gabon, aims to bolster the national authorities’ efforts to regain control of the territory and ensure the safety of the population.

This action aligns with the call made by President Ibrahim Traoré, who urged the Burkinabe diaspora to demonstrate greater patriotic engagement and to mobilize more actively for the national cause.

In response to this appeal, many Burkinabe living abroad have chosen to contribute actively to the fight against terrorism and the pursuit of absolute sovereignty for their country.

These contributions take the form of financial donations and in-kind support, intended to aid the Defense and Security Forces as well as the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP).

Earlier this year, in February, Burkinabe communities in Togo, China, and the American city of New Jersey raised a total of 63,329,600 CFA francs, along with food supplies.

These resources were used to assist internally displaced persons in Kaya, improve the living and working conditions of the VDP, and enhance military equipment to intensify operations against terrorist groups.

These numerous actions, carried out by both the Burkinabe diaspora and those living within the country, highlight the impact of the grassroots policy championed by President Traoré.

This approach, centered on civic engagement and national solidarity, is helping to shape the image of a determined leader who is attentive to the concerns of his people and committed to transforming Burkina Faso into a new, strong, and sovereign state.

These collective efforts not only strengthen national cohesion but also foster confidence in a brighter future for the country.
