Burkina Faso: The government reaffirms its determination to reinforce security with new police officers

In a context marked by security challenges, the Burkinabe government, under the presidency of Captain Ibrahim Traoré, continues its relentless efforts to reclaim national territory and establish lasting peace. The recent graduation of the 16th class of the National School of Security Officers (ENSOA), called “THE SAVIORS”, as well as the 54th class of the National Police School (ENP), reflects this commitment.

With 665 and 2,069 newly trained officers, these men and women are ready to fully engage in the fight against insecurity and ensure the protection of citizens. Their mission aligns with the government’s desire to strengthen the numbers and capacities of the Defense and Security Forces.

Presided over by the Prime Minister, Mr. Rimtalba Jean-Emmanuel OUÉDRAOGO, the ENP graduation ceremony, held on March 28, 2025, in Ouagadougou, highlighted the importance of this new generation of police officers. Named “DIMMEH SUUDU BAABA” (Hope of the Homeland), this class embodies the hope of the Burkinabe people and the authorities’ ambition to equip the country with an efficient and dedicated police force.

The Head of Government urged these new officers to embody the honor and dignity of Burkina Faso through their actions. Moreover, the Minister of Security, Mahamadou SANA, emphasized the urgency of the situation and the need for increased human resources to meet citizens’ expectations for protection and the fight against crime.

In this dynamic, the new recruits will be rapidly deployed within the various operational units of the national and municipal police forces. Their commitment will be crucial in strengthening the security presence across the country and supporting the ongoing reconquest operations led by the Armed Forces.

By integrating these young officers into existing structures, the government reaffirms its determination to ensure the safety of republican institutions and protect the population. These initiatives once again demonstrate that the political will is strong and that the fight for a stable and peaceful Burkina Faso continues with rigor and determination.
