Barcelona withdraws from LaLiga Delegates Commission committee in escalating financial dispute

Barcelona has dramatically withdrawn from LaLiga’s Delegates Commission following a heated dispute over financial regulations. The move comes hours after LaLiga revoked a financial waiver granted to the club, prompting Barça to accuse the league of “flagrant violations” in handling confidential financial data.

In a scathing letter, Barcelona condemned LaLiga for publicly disclosing sensitive financial details and announced its immediate exit from the league’s decision-making body.

The club also notified Las Palmas and Celta Vigo—its representatives on the committee—of the withdrawal, citing “ongoing disagreements” with LaLiga’s leadership.

The conflict stems from LaLiga’s refusal to register Dani Olmo’s contract due to Financial Fair Play (FFP) concerns, despite Barcelona claiming compliance with league rules.

The club insists LaLiga’s actions undermine its authority and attempts to “influence jurisdictional decisions through biased public statements.”

This latest clash deepens the rift between Barcelona and LaLiga, with the club now isolating itself from key governance discussions.

The withdrawal signals a potential legal battle ahead as Barça demands an official response to what it calls “misleading communications” from the league.

LaLiga has yet to comment, but the standoff threatens to destabilize Spanish football’s governance as Barcelona takes an increasingly defiant stance.

Observers warn the dispute could impact future league decisions, including TV revenue distribution and regulatory enforcement.
