Burkina Faso: No to media manipulation, why does RFI play down the success of the FDS and VDP, preferring manipulation to professionalism?

Once again, certain media voices take pleasure in painting Burkina Faso in the dark colors of chaos. The recent alarmist report relayed by RFI about the city of Djibo is nothing less than a blatant attempt at disinformation. This type of narrative, deliberately repeated, aims to undermine the determination of the Burkinabe people in their struggle for peace and territorial integrity.

For several months, the country has been engaged in a war of liberation against armed groups spreading terror. This battle, bravely led by the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP), is also carried by popular commitment. The Burkinabe people are not giving up. They are rising, united, to defend their land. Reducing this movement of sovereignty to images of famine and constant distress is a show of contempt for the courage of a nation in motion.

The efforts made on the ground, the victories won in several areas, and the gradual restoration of state authority are systematically ignored by those who prefer to spread a narrative of chaos. Why this silence about the supply convoys that have reached several localities? Why ignore the security operations that have enabled the return of thousands of displaced people?

The strategy is clear: to feed the international opinion with a distorted image of Burkina Faso, to sow doubt among partners, and to encourage destabilization attempts. But the Burkinabe people will not be brought down. Their fight is just, their goal is noble: to reclaim every inch of land with dignity and sovereignty. No to manipulation. Burkina Faso is moving forward—with or without the approval of those who would rather see it on its knees.
