Togo advances steadily on the path to industrialization under Faure Gnassingbé’s vision

In line with the vision of His Excellency President Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé, Togo is resolutely marching toward industrialization. This strong political commitment is translating into tangible progress on the ground, particularly through the continued development of the Adétikopé Industrial Platform (PIA)—a true engine of the country’s economic transformation.

On Wednesday, April 23rd, two new industrial facilities officially opened their doors at the PIA, in the presence of Prime Minister Victoire Tomégah-Dogbé. These new infrastructures—FHC Medica and NutriSource—embody the diversification of Togo’s industrial sector and reinforce the nation’s economic sovereignty.

FHC Medica: A leap in pharmaceutical independence

Spanning 7,000 m², FHC Medica is a state-of-the-art pharmaceutical plant specializing in generic drug production. With an impressive annual capacity of 750 million tablets, 150 million capsules, and 30 million syrups, the facility aims to supply not only the Togolese market but also the wider West African region.

Already employing over 100 young Togolese professionals, the plant underscores the link between industrialization and sustainable job creation.

NutriSource: boosting agricultural productivity

Meanwhile, NutriSource focuses on manufacturing fertilizers tailored to Togo’s soil needs. Backed by the international expertise of Fertistream, the plant boasts an annual production capacity of 200,000 tons and a 60,000-ton storage facility.

Its mission is to provide customized solutions for farmers while reducing logistical costs through local production.

A Stronger, more self-reliant Togo

“These are two more steps toward a stronger and more self-sufficient Togo,” emphasized Prime Minister Tomégah-Dogbé, praising these achievements as proof of the government’s ambition: building a robust industrial base, strengthening local value chains, and positioning Togo as a key player in the regional economy.

This latest milestone in Togo’s industrialization journey confirms that President Faure Gnassingbé’s policy is more than just a direction—it is an ongoing transformation, bringing hope and opportunities to the entire nation.
