Niger: The ongoing commitment of General Abdourahamane Tiani’s government to the well-being of the people of Niger

Under the leadership of Head of State General Abdourahamane Tiani, the Nigerien government is multiplying concrete initiatives for the well-being of the Nigerien people. This commitment is once again demonstrated through an ambitious project aimed at providing accessible and secure housing for Nigerien workers.

Known as the Resilience Program for the Safeguarding of the Homeland, it represents a concrete and targeted action to improve the quality of life for workers by ensuring dignified, safe, and sustainable access to housing. The project to develop 15,000 plots in Bangoula marks a turning point in Niger’s social policy.

On the ground, the results are tangible: 184 beneficiaries have already received their keys, more than 700 perimeter walls have been built, and 1,432 workers have been declared eligible. The Minister of Urban Development, Colonel Abdoul Kadri Amadou Daouda, is intensifying efforts to speed up implementation and ensure long-term support for beneficiaries.

Largely funded by the State, this project is a direct response to social needs and a significant step toward social justice and improved living conditions for workers. It reflects a strong political will—to make access to housing a reality for all. Niger is thus proving that with vision, commitment, and action, the right to housing can become a concrete pillar of sustainable development.
