DRC President Tshisekedi endorses visionary book on Africa’s agricultural potential

Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo – President Félix Tshisekedi presided over the unveiling of a groundbreaking book titled Africa Can Feed the World at the Fleuve Congo Hotel. Authored by Belgian entrepreneur George Arthur Forrest, the work presents a compelling case for Africa’s agricultural transformation and food sovereignty.

In a ceremony blending solemnity and optimism, President Tshisekedi hailed the publication as “a bible for those committed to Africa’s agricultural revolution.”

The Congolese leader emphasized his administration’s determination to shift the country’s economic focus from mineral dependence to agricultural development, calling farming “not just an option, but a national priority.”

The book’s launch comes at a pivotal moment for the DRC as it seeks to diversify its economy and achieve food security.

Its central thesis – that Africa could sustainably nourish both its population and global markets – aligns with Tshisekedi’s vision of a self-reliant Congo positioned as an agricultural powerhouse.

“This work will serve as our roadmap,” the President declared, underscoring agriculture’s role in fostering economic growth and social stability.

The endorsement signals Kinshasa’s commitment to transforming the DRC’s vast arable land into an engine of continental food security and sustainable development
