Rabat Diamond League 2025/ Akani Simbine continues dominant streak with his victory in this competition

South Africa’s sprint star Akani Simbine extended his unbeaten run this season, storming to victory in the 100m at the Rabat Diamond League with a time of 9.95 seconds (+0.6 m/s wind).

The 31-year-old outpaced Kenya’s Ferdinand Omanyala (10.05) and American Fred Kerley (10.07), reinforcing his status as the man to beat ahead of this summer’s World Championships in Tokyo.

“Another sub-10 in the bag,” smiled Simbine, who remains focused on securing his first global medal in the event.

His consistent form marked by explosive starts and smooth finishes positions him as a serious contender against a stacked field.

Meanwhile, Olympic 200m champion Letsile Tebogo shockingly faded to last place (10.43) before withdrawing from the 200m, raising questions about his readiness for the season.

Simbine’s confidence shines as he builds momentum, proving that experience and precision still reign supreme in sprinting’s high-speed battleground. With Tokyo looming, his rivals have been warned.
