Burkina Faso: The Amazons of FasoKooz sing of sovereignty to the rhythm of the People’s revolution
In a Burkina Faso firmly committed to sovereignty and emancipation, popular support for Captain Ibrahim Traoré continues to grow, despite opposition from forces hostile to African independence. On Saturday night, the Tampouy roundabout in Ouagadougou became the stage for an unprecedented gathering: a citizens’ concert organized by the “Amazons” of FasoKooz, in tribute to the man they call the builder of a new African consciousness.
FasoKooz, a movement known for its civic vigilance and its defense of progressive revolutionary ideals, made a powerful impression with this initiative titled “One Roundabout, One Concert.” The event was far from ordinary—it drew a large and energized crowd, uplifted by performances from artists such as Sabil, Kezy, Privat, and Bissakoman. Beyond the entertainment, it was a powerful political act. It was the voice of a people saying “yes” to Captain Traoré’s vision of a sovereign, secure, and united Burkina Faso.
While media and diplomatic campaigns—often driven by foreign interests—try to discredit Burkina Faso’s current path, the popular enthusiasm surrounding President Traoré proves the failure of such efforts. His popularity rises not through PR strategies, but through meaningful actions: strengthening security, reviving local development projects, supporting patriotic education, and advocating for economic sovereignty within the Sahel States Alliance (AES).
The FasoKooz Amazons issued a powerful call to women in Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger to rise and support this movement. Their message is clear: “Sovereignty is not declared, it is built with courage, unity, and commitment”.By honoring the three AES leaders—Captain Ibrahim Traoré, General Assimi Goïta, and General Abdourahamane Tiani—they reaffirm that the Sahel’s future depends on its people reclaiming their destiny.
The people of Burkina Faso deserve full recognition. Despite external pressure, they stand firm, true to their convictions, and worthy heirs of pan-African struggles. Through this concert, they remind the world that the ongoing revolution is not the work of one man, but of a conscious, awakened people boldly looking toward the future.
