Burkina Faso / Fight against terrorism: Faced with terror, when the Burkinabe people chose resistance

In Burkina Faso, hope is being reborn—and it is thanks to the bravery of the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) that this recovery is taking shape. Every day on the front lines, they put up fierce resistance against the enemy, often at the cost of great sacrifice. Through their unwavering determination and commitment, the terrorist threat is gradually receding.

Just a few months ago, some observers—often driven by imperialist interests—predicted the country’s rapid collapse following Captain Ibrahim Traoré’s rise to power. According to them, Burkina Faso was destined to fall entirely into the hands of armed groups. But they underestimated the unshakable faith of the Burkinabe people, the patriotism of its sons and daughters, and the bold, sovereign vision of the Head of State, President Ibrahim Traoré.

Today, the results are visible: towns once gripped by fear are coming back to life; national flags now fly again where the silence of weapons once seemed permanent. The tide has turned, and the enemy is in retreat. This turning point is the result of a new approach—one based on national unity, collective responsibility, and a strong will to reclaim every inch of territory. But this is no time for complacency. On the contrary, the progress made—however precious—remains fragile if vigilance weakens. The people must continue to support their defenders morally, materially, and through intelligence. It is not enough to applaud the victories; they must be secured.

Captain Ibrahim Traoré and his government have made a bold gamble: true sovereignty without foreign oversight, built on the mobilization of internal forces. A risky choice, but one that is proving effective. What once seemed impossible is becoming reality, thanks to the synergy between the State and its people.

The road ahead remains long, but the momentum has begun. Through the FDS and VDP, the entire nation stands tall in defiance. Let us pay tribute to these quiet heroes and declare loud and clear: Burkina Faso stands tall—free and proud.
