Togo / Towards quality digital Education: Tablets for School innovation

President Faure Gnassingbé’s initiative to digitize education in Togo aims to modernize learning and tackle contemporary challenges head-on.

Recently, this effort reached a significant milestone with the distribution of new tablets to regional education directors, organized by the Ministry responsible for primary and secondary education on June 24.

These tablets are specifically designed to facilitate the implementation of extracurricular activities in schools, marking a pivotal component of the Education Sector Plan (2020-2030).

The goal is to enhance educational quality by integrating new technologies into the learning process.

Practically, these digital tools will not only enrich students’ educational experiences but also energize engagement among educators and administrators.

By promoting extracurricular educational activities, these tablets contribute to a more comprehensive education that meets current needs.

In a recent directive from the ministry, stakeholders have been urged to actively prepare for the full integration of these extracurricular activities starting from the 2024-2025 school year.

This initiative signifies a crucial step towards delivering sustainable, high-quality education in Togo, aligned with the demands of the digital age.

The Togolese government’s digital transition policy underscores a commitment to inclusive and innovative education, preparing youth to excel in an increasingly connected and technologically advanced world.
