DRC: President Félix Tshisekedi reinforces military strategy for the security of the East

President Félix Tshisekedi presided over a pivotal meeting at the Mont-Ngaliema Presidential Palace on Monday, leading the High Military Command Task Force.

 

Following a previous session held on July 5th, the gathering brought together a diverse group of senior government and security officials to address the urgent situation in the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

 

In attendance alongside the High Military Command were the Vice Prime Minister for Defense, the Minister of Finance, the President’s Chief of Staff, and key security service leaders, along with several advisors to the Head of State.

 

Together, they assessed the current military and security challenges gripping the region.

 

At the heart of the discussions, President Félix Tshisekedi, also the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the DRC (FARDC) and the National Police, outlined clear directives aimed at strengthening the country’s security and territorial integrity.

 

He urged the High Military Command to swiftly implement the agreed-upon measures to stabilize the region.

 

The meeting underscored the Congolese government’s unwavering commitment to taking decisive actions against the ongoing threats in Eastern Congo. The decisions taken and measures directed aim to restore peace and safeguard local populations.

 

Led by President Félix Tshisekedi, this gathering represents a critical milestone in the efforts to secure Eastern DRC.

 

It reflects the resolve of Congolese authorities to effectively confront security challenges and uphold the nation’s territorial sovereignty.
