DRC: President Félix Tshisekedi hails Leopards’ progress at AFCON 2023

In an official statement, the President of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Félix Tshisekedi, expressed his deep gratitude to the national football team, the Leopards, for their admirable performance during the Total Africa Cup of Nations 2023 (TotalAFCON2023).

The President praised the determination and pride with which the team represented the country on the continental football stage.

«I want to warmly congratulate our Leopards for their remarkable performance at the TotalAFCON2023. Despite the challenges and expectations, our national team has shown a spirit of resilience and dedication that deserves the utmost respect», stated President Tshisekedi.

The Leopards’ journey was particularly notable as they were not among the favorites before the start of the competition.

However, with their commitment and team cohesion, they managed to defend the national colors with honor and pride, stirring the emotions of the Congolese nation in every match.

President Félix Tshisekedi also expressed his appreciation to the Congolese people for their unwavering support to the Leopards throughout their journey in AFCON 2023.
