Burkina Faso: Captain Ibrahim Traoré’s men neutralize four assailants and capture one with recovered equipment

In Burkina Faso, the relentless fight against terrorism continues to gain ground. In a precisely executed joint operation on March 8, 2024, the Burkinabe armed forces dealt another significant blow to terrorists in the Piéla region, near Bogandé in the east of the country.

The GUMI 11 team, working closely with the departmental police commissioner and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP), executed an unwavering operation resulting in the neutralization of four terrorists and the capture of another.

It is noteworthy that this display of force and exemplary coordination reflects the unwavering commitment of the Burkinabe security forces to protect their country and population from terrorist threats.

In addition to inflicting losses on the terrorists, the operation led to the recovery of a substantial arsenal, including five motorcycles used by assailants for swift and discreet movements, an improvised explosive device, a Kalashnikov, a radio, seven phones, and even a 20-liter gasoline can.

This operational success highlights the unyielding determination of the Burkinabe armed forces, led by Captain Ibrahim Traoré, to eradicate the scourge of terrorism and restore stability and security to Burkina Faso.

It also underscores the effective coordination between different branches of national security, crucial for preserving peace and security in the region.

The victory in Piéla sends a clear message to terrorist groups: no enclave will be tolerated, no act of aggression will go unpunished.

The Burkinabe security forces remain firmly committed to their mission of bringing peace and security back to Burkina Faso, safeguarding their fellow citizens against any threats to their safety and well-being.
