Nico Williams: Barcelona’s target despite contract cxtension with Athletic Bilbao

Nico Williams, a rising star in Spanish football, has been on Barcelona’s radar despite recently extending his contract with Athletic Bilbao. The talented 21-year-old winger seems open to the idea of joining the Blaugrana, adding intrigue to his future prospects.

While he committed his immediate future to Bilbao, Barcelona, under the guidance of Deco, may make a move for him in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Reports from SPORT suggest that Williams is not opposed to a potential move to Barcelona. In fact, he is reportedly quite enthusiastic about the prospect.

Barcelona, on their part, holds a strong interest in the player and could pursue him actively in the transfer market.

A move to Barcelona would also reunite Williams with his close friends Alejandro Baldé and Lamine Yamal.

However, securing Williams’ services won’t come cheap for Barcelona. The winger’s release clause stands at €50 million, a figure the Catalan club will have to meet to pry him away from Bilbao.
