Premier League clubs introduce spending Cap despite some resistance

In a significant move, the Premier League has announced the introduction of a spending cap per club, with the majority of clubs supporting the idea. However, clubs like Manchester City have opposed such a decision.

This development poses a challenge for Manchester City, known for their substantial spending during transfer windows. Following a shareholder meeting, Premier League clubs have agreed to implement the spending cap starting from the 2025-2026 season.

The decision to introduce the spending cap was made after a vote, with 14 clubs in favor, 3 against (Manchester City, Manchester United, and Aston Villa), and 3 abstaining.
