Burkina Faso: A giant step towards financial autonomy through patriotic support funds

Madame Fatoumata Bako/Traoré, the Minister Delegate in charge of the Budget, announced that the Patriotic Support Fund (FSD) had raised 86 billion 203 million 443 thousand 477 FCFA as of June 25, 2024.

This revelation came during the second ordinary session of the FSD’s orientation council for 2024.

This amount represents 86.20% of the annual recovery target set at 100 billion FCFA.

The minister highlighted that this achievement demonstrates the commitment of both citizens and partners to supporting patriotic initiatives and enhancing the country’s economic stability.

The success of the Patriotic Support Fund is based on diversifying its funding sources. Contributions come from voluntary donations by citizens, corporate donations, and grants from international partners.

This diversity strengthens the fund’s financial resilience and ensures a steady and stable collection.

Madame Fatoumata Bako/Traoré emphasized the importance of transparency in fund management.

The FSD’s orientation council ensures that every franc CFA is utilized efficiently and in line with established objectives.

This strict management is crucial for maintaining the trust of contributors and encouraging further donations.

With a recovery rate already nearing the annual target, the FSD is positioned as a vital financial tool for national development.

The minister expressed confidence in the fund’s ability to meet or even exceed the 100 billion FCFA goal by the end of the year.
