Real Madrid claims sixth UEFA Super Cup in victory over Atalanta

Real Madrid secured their sixth UEFA Super Cup title with a 2-0 victory over Atalanta at Stadion Narodowy in Warsaw on Wednesday night. The match, which pitted the reigning Champions League winners against the Europa League champions, saw the Spanish giants emerge victorious after a tightly contested first half.

Madrid’s star-studded attack, featuring Vinicius Jr., Jude Bellingham, Rodrygo, and Kylian Mbappé, started strongly, but Atalanta held their own, coming close to taking the lead when a deflected shot from Antonio Rüdiger struck the post.

The first half ended in a 0-0 stalemate, with both teams missing key opportunities.

The breakthrough for Madrid came in the second half. Federico Valverde opened the scoring in the 59th minute after a brilliant assist from Vinicius.

Ten minutes later, Mbappé sealed the win with his first goal for Madrid, finishing off a well-executed pass from Bellingham.

Despite Atalanta’s efforts, the score remained 2-0, handing Real Madrid another European trophy to add to their collection.
