Côte d’Ivoire National Team: Emerse Faé announces squad for AFCON Qualifiers

Côte d’Ivoire’s head coach, Emerse Faé, has revealed a 25-man squad for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers. The Elephants will face Zambia on September 6th and Chad on September 10th, with the notable return of Amad Diallo, who has been recalled to the national team after an impressive spell with his club.

Key players and returning stars

Amad Diallo’s inclusion in the squad is a significant highlight, as the young winger has been in fine form, showcasing his talent in Europe. His return is expected to bolster the Ivorian attack, adding creativity and flair to the team’s offensive play.

Another key figure in the squad is Sébastien Haller, the Borussia Dortmund striker who has continued to prove his worth at the club level after overcoming a serious health setback.

In midfield, the presence of seasoned players like Franck Kessié and Ibrahim Sangaré provides stability and experience.

Kessié, who recently made a move to Al Ahli in Saudi Arabia, will be crucial in dictating the tempo of the game and supporting both the defense and attack.

Defensive solidity

The defense, led by experienced players such as Willy Boly and Odilon Kossounou, is expected to be a strong unit.

Evan Ndicka, who has been a regular in Europe’s top leagues, will add further depth to the backline, ensuring the Elephants remain solid against their opponents.
