Football/ Club World Cup 2025: Group Stage draw sets the Stage for Global showdowns

The much-anticipated draw for the 2025 Club World Cup has revealed thrilling group-stage matchups, setting the stage for a global football spectacle. With 32 teams from across the world, this revamped tournament will run from June 15 to July 13 in the United States.

France’s sole representative, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), finds itself in Group B alongside familiar foe Atlético Madrid, Brazilian powerhouse Botafogo, and Major League Soccer’s Seattle Sounders.

Remarkably, PSG and Atlético face each other again just weeks after their recent Champions League clash. Botafogo, fresh from its Copa Libertadores triumph under owner John Textor, and Seattle, a strong MLS contender, add unique challenges to the group.

The draw wasn’t short on star-studded narratives. Group H promises a blockbuster encounter between Real Madrid, led by Kylian Mbappé, and Al-Hilal, featuring Neymar—provided the Brazilian star avoids injury. Real also faces Austria’s RB Salzburg and Mexico’s Pachuca.

Manchester City, reigning European champions, headlines Group G, where they will square off against Juventus, Morocco’s Wydad Casablanca, and UAE’s Al-Ain. Meanwhile, Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami finds itself in Group A, sharing the spotlight with Porto.

Held in Miami, the draw featured a dazzling lineup of celebrities from football and beyond.

While the ceremony stretched on, the resulting groups ensured an electrifying tournament awaits, uniting football fans worldwide for an unforgettable summer.
