Côte d’ivoire: Saïd Penda, a manipulator serving his own interests

Côte d’Ivoire is grappling with a troubling wave of disinformation, allegedly fuelled by Cameroonian journalist Saïd Penda. Known for presenting his content as investigative journalism, Penda is accused of manipulating public opinion to serve private and foreign interests.

His widely circulated videos on social media, such as those addressing the case of Tjidiane Thiam, have drawn significant criticism.

In this instance, Penda is alleged to have used sophisticated editing techniques to bolster the image of PDCI candidate Tjidiane Thiam while avoiding fact-checking his claims. Such practices raise questions about his objectivity and underlying motives.

Beyond his media activities, Saïd Penda is suspected of advancing political agendas aimed at destabilizing the government of President Alassane Ouattara and weakening the ruling RHDP party.

Reliable sources suggest he is working with external entities to target key figures in the administration, including Transport Minister Amadou Koné, with the apparent goal of fostering division and discord.

Allegations of blackmail against Ivorian political figures add to the growing concerns.

By favoring manipulation on social media platforms, Penda is increasingly seen as a threat to Côte d’Ivoire’s stability and social cohesion. A call for vigilance is imperative in the face of this alarming situation.
