Burkina Faso: President Ibrahim Traoré meets the armed forces in Barsalogho on the eve of Independence Day

In the lead-up to Burkina Faso’s Independence Day celebrations, President Ibrahim Traoré visited the military units stationed in Barsalogho, in the Centre-North region, on Tuesday, December 10, 2024.

 

This visit, undertaken by road, underscores his commitment to maintaining close ties with the troops on the front lines of the country’s most challenging security zones.

 

On the ground, the President commended the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) for their unwavering dedication and sacrifices in the face of persistent threats.

 

In his interactions with the soldiers, he acknowledged their pivotal role in safeguarding national sovereignty and facilitating the gradual return of displaced populations to their communities.

 

This symbolic gesture highlights the President’s steadfast support for the armed forces and sends a broader message of unity and resilience to the nation.

 

It underscores the critical importance of solidarity in the ongoing struggle for a secure, sovereign, and prosperous Burkina Faso.
