Burkina Faso/End of year: Patriotism and a spirit of solidarity gain ground for those in need

In Burkina Faso, the close of the year has sparked a surge of solidarity, with gestures of support directed towards vulnerable populations, internally displaced persons (IDPs), Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDPs), and the nation’s defense forces (FDS).

Among the most poignant acts of generosity have been those aimed at the families of fallen soldiers who gave their lives in defense of the nation.

One standout contribution came from Li Yubao, Special Advisor to President Ibrahim Traoré. On Monday, Li Yubao provided significant aid to the widows and orphans of deceased soldiers.

The donations included essential food supplies such as rice, maize, pasta, cooking oil, and milk, as well as a financial contribution of 12.5 million CFA francs.

These items were handed over to the Central Directorate of Social Action for the Armed Forces and wounded personnel.

Additionally, Li Yubao committed to covering the school fees for 500 children of fallen soldiers, from primary school through university.

His consistent support, recognized with the title of Commander of the Order of the Stallion, underscores his dedication to the sovereignty and security of Burkina Faso.

These actions align with President Ibrahim Traoré’s vision of fostering patriotism, mutual aid, and social cohesion among the people of Burkina Faso.

They serve as a testament to the collective resolve to confront the country’s challenges and build a future rooted in solidarity and resilience.
