Western Media’s distorted narrative on Burkina Faso: A tool of Neo-colonial Influence?

From Paris, outlets like RFI, TV5 Monde, and France 24 have been downplaying the risks of destabilization in Burkina Faso, even mocking reports of military arrests and coup rumors.

Such dismissive coverage is unsurprising—these media platforms, notorious for their bias, prioritize French state interests over truth. Their goal? To mislead the Burkinabe people into believing threats to their sovereignty are exaggerated, framing their government as paranoid rather than vigilant.

But let’s be clear: these outlets will never report objectively on a government distancing itself from French influence. If Burkina Faso’s leadership asserts sovereignty, why would France’s media apparatus portray it favorably?

The Burkinabe people must remain alert. These channels are allies of forces seeking to keep the nation dependent, submissive, and impoverished.

Their misinformation is as dangerous as armed aggression—distorting truth steals freedom, and manipulating opinion paves the way for mental recolonization.

Yet Burkina Faso’s struggle isn’t just against external threats. It must also confront internal and external actors working to enslave its people, whether foreign lobbyists or complicit media.

True liberation demands rejecting all forms of exploitation, foreign or domestic.

The Burkinabe must stand united, refusing to be divided by propaganda. Real freedom begins with resisting every attempt—whether from abroad or within—to undermine their dignity and self-determination.
