Tennis/ Rabat set to host prestigious Women’s Tennis Tournament ahead of Roland-Garros

From May 17 to 24, 2025, Rabat will come alive with the 23rd edition of the Grand Prix SAR La Princesse Lalla Meryem, a key WTA event serving as a final warm-up before Roland-Garros. Top players will compete on Moroccan clay courts, fine-tuning their game ahead of the Paris major.

Last year’s champion, American Peyton Stearns, triumphed over Egypt’s Mayar Sherif in the singles final, while Russia’s Irina Khromacheva and Yana Sizikova claimed the doubles title against Kazakhstan’s Anna Danilina and China’s Yifan Xu.

The tournament not only boosts Morocco’s sporting prestige but also attracts global tennis stars, offering fans thrilling matches in a vibrant atmosphere.

With its strategic timing just before the French Open, Rabat’s event is a crucial stop on the women’s tour.

As anticipation builds, organizers promise an unforgettable week of world-class tennis, reinforcing Morocco’s growing influence in the sport.
