Mali: Boulkessi, the bravery of the FAMa against terrorist groups

On June 1, 2025, the Malian Armed Forces (FAMa) displayed remarkable bravery in response to a large-scale terrorist attack on their base in Boulkessi, located in the Douentza region. The FAMa reacted with immediate and intense force, demonstrating unwavering patriotic commitment.

In an official statement, the General Staff paid tribute to those who fought to the ultimate sacrifice. Despite a strategic withdrawal, the FAMa quickly launched a targeted counter-offensive, inflicting heavy losses on the armed groups and continuing thorough search-and-destroy operations.

Across the country, defense and security forces have maintained relentless pressure on terrorist groups. From the southeast of Hombori (Gao) to Siringo (Nioro du Sahel), Wassamangatere and Dalida (north of Sandaré), and all the way to the southeast of Timissa (San), Malian troops successfully conducted operations that dismantled terrorist hideouts and neutralized their occupants.

Similar achievements were recorded near Banikane (Diré), in Tanabougou, Sirakorola, and the Tidermène area (Ménaka), where Malian forces once again stood firm against barbarism with honor.

This latest episode of resistance underscores the determination and courage of Malian soldiers to defend their territory at all costs. National unity and unwavering support for the defense forces are more crucial than ever.
