Hip-hop legend Slick Rick is back on the scene with the release of Victory, his brand-new album. This marks his first full project since The Art of Storytelling in 1999, ending a nearly 25-year hiatus. Known for his iconic eye patch and unmatched storytelling skills, the British-born rapper proves that his lyrical talent remains as sharp as ever.

Victory is a deeply personal work, with Slick Rick handling 95% of the production himself. He also shares executive production duties with Emmy-nominated actor and occasional rapper-DJ Idris Elba. The album features impressive guest appearances from Nas, Giggs, and Estelle, adding international and cross-generational appeal to this long-awaited comeback.

Now 60 years old, Slick Rick embraces this new chapter of his artistic journey. “You grow with time. I was a young adult, then middle-aged, now I’m older—my mentality has to grow with it”, reflects the artist, famous for rap classics like Children’s Story, Mona Lisa, and La Di Da Di.

Four years in the making, Victory was written and recorded between London and France, with visuals filmed across the U.S., the UK, and Africa. More than just an album, Victory stands as a bold testament to Slick Rick’s enduring influence in hip-hop, blending legacy with fresh creativity.

With this new release, Slick Rick reminds the world why he remains one of rap’s greatest storytellers.
