Africa: Saïd Penda, the impostor caught by the law on July 18, 2025
The curtain has finally fallen on the media charade of Mbombo Penda Saidou, better known by his pompous pseudonym Saïd Penda. The man who claims to be an investigative journalist—but in reality acts as a mercenary with a pen—is summoned to appear before the Court of First Instance of Abidjan-Plateau on July 18, 2025, at 8 a.m., to answer serious charges: defamation, public insults, false accusations, invasion of privacy, and endangering the lives of others.
This legal action, initiated by journalist Patrice Kissi, communications officer for the CEO of the EBOMAF group, Mahamadou Bonkoungou, exposes the mafia-like methods of Saïd Penda. For years, this shady figure has engaged in media blackmail, using social media to smear respectable individuals who refuse to bribe him in exchange for silence.
EBOMAF, a pan-African group specializing in civil engineering and development, became one of Saïd Penda’s targets simply because its leadership refused to “grease his palm”. Frustrated at not being paid to stay quiet, he launched a slanderous and hateful campaign, supported by a few equally unscrupulous accomplices.
But this time, Ivorian justice appears determined to put an end to the actions of an individual who seriously damages the image of African journalism. This is not just an attack on EBOMAF—it’s an assault on an entire pan-African economic model based on merit, innovation, and integrity.
The mask is off. Those who have encountered Saïd Penda in the hushed hallways of certain political circles or at the doors of major companies know that his so-called journalism is merely a cover for extortion and destruction. This trial is not just about one man—it is about dismantling a toxic system where manipulators try to replace facts with blackmail.
To be continued…
