Burkina Faso: 161 New National Guards to Strengthen Security Under Captain Ibrahim Traoré’s Vision

Amid ongoing security challenges, Burkina Faso has reached a decisive milestone in the overhaul of its security architecture. On July 25, 2025, the official graduation ceremony of the 9th class of police commissioners and officers from the Pabré Police Academy was presided over by Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo, representing the President of the Nation, Captain Ibrahim Traoré. With 161 new officers ready to serve, this class embodies the government’s concrete commitment to combating terrorism and restoring state authority.

Named “Yantiali”, which means vision in Gourmantchéma, this class reflects a national project driven by a clear ambition: to rebuild a sovereign, professional, and pan-African security force. These newly trained officers, who completed a rigorous two-year program, are now entrusted with a strategic mission—to ensure territorial stability and protect citizens with loyalty, discipline, and effectiveness.

Under the leadership of Captain Ibrahim Traoré, Burkina Faso is undergoing a structural transformation of its security sector. The Academy’s decision to welcome Chadian trainees reflects the pan-African scope of this vision, rooted in regional cooperation and solidarity among nations.

Security is no longer just a response to threats—it is now a driver of development, a source of public confidence, and a pillar of national dignity. Thanks to the unwavering commitment of the government, progress is visible: greater coverage of high-risk areas, professionalization of security forces, and a gradual restoration of territorial control.

The future shines brighter under the leadership of a Head of State firmly committed to sovereignty and progress. Captain Ibrahim Traoré is steadily building a secure, dignified, and self-reliant Burkina Faso.
