AES: Ouagadougou-Bamako, strengthened cooperation rooted in the realities of the Sahel

The Bamako meeting between the Prime Ministers of Burkina Faso and Mali embodies a new dynamic driven by visionary leaders, firmly committed to the rebuilding of their states. Through this strengthened cooperation within the Confederation of AES States, Burkina Faso demonstrates its determination to build a future based on sovereignty, regional solidarity, and shared development.

This partnership between Burkina Faso and Mali is taking a concrete and strategic shape, illustrated by joint military operations along their shared borders. These actions aim to neutralize terrorist armed groups, secure the cross-border area sustainably, and facilitate the return of displaced populations.

Beyond security, the two countries are increasing consultations in key sectors such as youth, sports, employment, justice, tourism, and culture. This momentum reflects a shared desire to develop cooperation models rooted in Sahelian realities, free from external influence.

During their recent meeting in Bamako, the Prime Ministers reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the Alliance of Sahel States (AES), guided by a vision of unity, sovereignty, and shared destiny. This ambition is redefining the contours of regional integration and paving the way for collective resilience in the face of contemporary challenges.

Under the guidance of their leaders, the AES is pursuing a strategic reorientation across all sectors: security, economy, education, health, and governance. Every decision made aims to meet the deep aspirations of the Sahelian people, grounded in a spirit of collective responsibility.
