Football/Atlético Madrid: A massive transfer window to chase silverware

Atlético Madrid is pushing forward with its major squad overhaul. After already signing seven new players this summer – David Hancko, Matteo Ruggeri, Marc Pubill, Thiago Almada, Johnny Cardoso, Alex Baena, and Giacomo Raspadori – the club has shown no intention of slowing down. With an investment close to €200 million, the Colchoneros have made their ambitions clear: win a trophy this season.

Despite a rocky start to the league campaign, marked by a 2-1 defeat against Espanyol while Real Madrid and Barcelona both secured opening victories, optimism within the club remains high. Diego Simeone has openly stated his desire to further strengthen the attack, prompting the board to explore several targets.

Among them is Juventus winger Nico Gonzalez, considered a top priority. According to Italian media, a personal agreement has already been reached with the player, but Juventus is demanding between €25 and €30 million. Atlético, for now, is only offering €15 million. To bridge the gap, full-back Nahuel Molina could be included in the deal.

Other names linked with the Madrid side include Takefusa Kubo from Real Sociedad and Kang-in Lee from Paris Saint-Germain. Clearly, Atlético’s transfer window is far from over.
