Burkina Faso: More than 17.000 terrorists neutralized since Captain Ibrahim Traoré took office

Since Captain Ibrahim Traoré’s rise to power in Burkina Faso, the country’s security dynamic has taken a decisive turn. Before his leadership, terrorist groups roamed almost freely, spreading terror across the nation and plunging families into mourning week after week. The repeated attacks claimed the lives of hundreds of innocent citizens whose only desire was to live in peace on their land.

Captain Ibrahim Traoré’s arrival marked a clear break. Seen by many as a providential leader, he took on the fight against terrorism head-on, mobilizing the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) as well as the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP). With tailored military strategies and unprecedented popular involvement, Burkina Faso’s response quickly produced results.

According to a survey conducted by an international organization based in the Sahel, more than 17.000 terrorists have been neutralized since Captain Ibrahim Traoré took power. This figure reflects both the effectiveness of operations on the ground and the significant weakening of armed groups. Now cornered and weakened, jihadists are reduced to launching sporadic attacks before retreating.

This wave of collective resistance and national solidarity, driven by President Ibrahim Traoré, has sparked admiration and recognition. By implementing a firm and coordinated strategy, Burkina Faso shows that it is possible to reclaim control of its territory and restore hope to an entire people.
