Football/ PSG anger as Dembélé Hurt in 2-0 Victory

Ousmane Dembélé’s injury during France’s friendly win over Ukraine (2-0) has raised serious concerns at Paris Saint-Germain. Brought on at halftime to replace Désiré Doué, the Parisian forward lasted only thirty minutes before being forced off, complaining of pain in his right thigh. Already struggling the previous weekend with PSG in Toulouse due to discomfort in his left hamstring, his condition has sparked questions about whether he should have played at all.

France’s coach defended his decision, insisting that medically there was no issue and that Dembélé himself felt ready. However, this explanation does not sit well with PSG, who claim they had warned the French medical staff about the player’s fragile physical condition. The club believes Dembélé should not have played a single minute, especially after a summer without proper preseason preparation, which left him more exposed to muscular injuries.

The forward is now set to undergo an MRI to determine the extent of the damage. Yet, it already appears unlikely that he will feature in PSG’s upcoming key fixtures, including the Champions League clash with Atalanta Bergamo on September 17 and the Ligue 1 showdown against Marseille on September 21.
