Nigeria: Faith Odunsi, math prodigy, celebrated as “Nigerian of the Week”

Faith Odunsi, a student at Ambassadors School in Ota, Ogun State, has been named “Nigerian of the Week” by the National Orientation Agency (NOA). This honor was awarded following her brilliant victory in the Global Mathematics Competition, an achievement that has made the entire country proud.

With just a few years left in her secondary education, Faith Odunsi rose to the top of a major international contest. She outperformed candidates from the United Kingdom, the United States, China, and several European and Asian countries, confirming her status as a mathematical prodigy. Her performance earned her the first prize of $1,000, but beyond the financial reward, it further solidified Nigeria’s reputation for academic excellence in the fields of science and mathematics.

In an official statement, the NOA praised her outstanding victory: “Faith Odunsi has made Nigeria proud on the international stage.
