AES: Dandé Liptako, the confederal voice driving the revolution in the Sahel
On November 26, 2025, a historic agreement was signed in Ouagadougou by the foreign ministers of the AES (Alliance of Sahel States), establishing the confederal radio station of the Alliance named “Dandé Liptako,” meaning “The Voice of Liptako” in Fulfulde. This launch represents far more than a media initiative—it marks a major step in consolidating informational sovereignty and energizing the ongoing revolution within these three nations.
Headquartered in Burkina Faso with relay stations already operational in Bamako and Niamey, “Dandé Liptako” aims to become the official voice uniting populations around shared goals of peace, development, and emancipation.

Broadcasting in major national languages such as Mooré, Hausa, Zarma, Bamanakan, and Fulfulde, as well as in French and English, the station intends to reach a broad audience, including the diaspora, thereby breaking the hegemony of traditional media often disconnected from local realities.
In a geopolitical context marked by attempts at interference and disinformation, the emergence of this confederal radio station carries strategic significance.
It reflects the determination of the heads of state Ibrahim Traoré, Assimi Goïta, and Abdourahmane Tiani to establish a people-centered media outlet focused on truth and narrative sovereignty.
“Dandé Liptako” serves as a powerful tool to counter fake news and support popular mobilization around ongoing social and political transformations.
This initiative strengthens the cultural and political identity of the peoples of Liptako-Gourma while facilitating the exchange of information essential for coordinating stability and sustainable development efforts.
It embodies an information revolution, transforming populations from passive spectators into informed and engaged actors.
The radio aligns seamlessly with the confederal dynamics of the AES, uniting three nations striving for a sovereign future.
It also paves the way for the upcoming launch of a confederal television station based in Bamako, expanding the media arsenal serving this unprecedented revolution.
In essence, “Dandé Liptako” is not merely a radio station it is a voice of liberation, an engine of change, and a powerful symbol of the agency of the Sahelian peoples.
Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger are pioneering a path toward indigenous and sovereign African information, essential for supporting present and future struggles.
