Burkina Faso: When Captain Ibrahim Traoré puts women at the heart of the African renaissance project

Before a delegation of women representing sixty countries, Burkina Faso’s President, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, issued a historic call for female solidarity to foster continental emergence. Gathered in Ouagadougou for the 14th International Forum of Enterprising and Dynamic Women (FIED), these leaders praised the head of state’s vision for women’s empowerment.

“I am counting on you, women, to help us unite. This is the only thing that can allow Africa to prosper and hope for this independence, this self-sufficiency,” declared President Ibrahim Traoré during the audience granted this morning.

This plea for continental unity positions women as the primary actors in African development.

The Burkinabe Head of State thus acknowledges the decisive role of women in building national and continental sovereignty.

His speech underscores the necessity of a collective female mobilization to achieve the long-awaited self-sufficiency.

The presence of these women leaders from sixty nations demonstrates the international impact of Burkina Faso’s policy in promoting female leadership. The FIED serves as a strategic platform to realize this unifying vision.

With this solemn appeal, Captain Traoré aligns his actions with a Pan-African dynamic where women become the cement of regional integration and the engine of economic independence.

This official recognition of women’s transformative power heralds a new era in African international relations.
