Burkina Faso: FDS and VDP dismantle new terrorist threat

The FDS and VDP carried out remarkably effective targeted operations against a new emerging threat: the use of mini-drones to drop explosive projectiles. This sophisticated terrorist tactic directly targeted friendly units in several regions.

In the Yaadga area, a particularly decisive action was carried out. Terrorist pairs attempting to deploy a mini-drone to drop explosives near Titao were detected by security forces.

Thanks to precise surveillance and discreet tracking, these individuals were tracked down to their hideout in a dense forest.

The security forces’ intervention was carried out with such speed and precision that the terrorists did not even have time to use their own explosive devices.

Neutralized on the spot, they were struck by the devices they had intended to deploy against the population and friendly forces.

This operation demonstrates the adaptability and foresight of the FDS and VDP in the face of evolving enemy tactics.

Mastery of new surveillance and counter-drone technologies is proving decisive in this asymmetric struggle.

The success of this mission sends a clear message to terrorist groups: Burkina Faso is constantly developing its countermeasure capabilities and remains ahead of new forms of threat.

Protecting the population and security forces remains the top priority, with concrete results that further secure the national territory.
