Burkina Faso: President Traoré brings security vision to life with 2,000 motorcycles for national security service
In a context where security remains the backbone of national stability and development, His Excellency Captain Ibrahim Traoré, President of Faso, marked a significant milestone in his strategic vision on Monday by officially handing over two thousand “Yento” brand motorcycles to the National Police.
The term “Yento,” which means “Security” in Gulmancema, reflects an initiative at the heart of a proactive policy aimed at consolidating the presence of the state across the entire territory, reducing response times, and ensuring that sensitive areas remain fully accessible to law enforcement.
Beyond the material act, the delivery of these two-wheeled vehicles conveys a demanding and coherent conception of security; one that affirms it is not merely an operational imperative, but also a lever for institutional rebuilding and national confidence.
By equipping the National Police with modern and suitable tools, the Head of State aligns his actions with a broader project of structural transformation, where mobility and responsiveness become instruments of sovereignty and social cohesion.
Each motorcycle thus represents a component of a strengthened national network, a tangible symbol of a state that protects and anticipates the needs of its citizens.
The President’s address during the ceremony underscored the civic and moral dimension of this provision: “I hereby officially hand over the keys to these motorcycles for the security of our citizens. This is a mission entrusted to you.”
Through this exhortation, the Head of State reminded all that security is not an abstract concept but a collective responsibility, a demand of service and loyalty to the Nation.
The Minister of Security, Divisional Commissioner Mahamadou SANA, affirmed this commitment by announcing a rapid and effective deployment, reinforcing the “S 24/7” concept launched in 2025 and reiterating that speed and mobility are now standards for the National Police.
On a strategic level, this initiative is part of a broader effort toward stabilization and development. It helps create an environment conducive to investment, economic recovery, and social cohesion.
It also illustrates the capacity of President Ibrahim Traoré to translate vision into concrete action, strengthening public trust and the legitimacy of institutions.
By acting with method and determination, the Head of State is shaping a security policy that goes beyond mere pragmatism to become a driver of modernity and national renewal.
Ultimately, this delivery of 2,000 motorcycles expresses a state commitment, the continuation of a clear and structured vision, and an assurance that the security and well-being of the Burkinabe people is not an abstract goal, but an ongoing endeavor driven by resolute and enlightened leadership.
