Burkina Faso: Captain Ibrahim TRAORÉ donates 15 new trucks to boost food self-sufficiency
As part of the 2023–2025 agropastoral and fisheries offensive, the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim TRAORÉ, has taken a major step in favor of food sovereignty. The acquisition of 15 brand-new trucks, worth a total of 1.2 billion CFA francs, marks a new phase in the political will to structurally transform Burkina Faso’s fisheries sector.
Among these vehicles, three are particularly strategic: two trucks are dedicated to transporting fry, with an impressive capacity of 400,000 units per trip, while the third is designed to carry freshly caught fish from floating cages. This logistical setup will not only improve the production chain but also ensure the quality of fishery products all the way to the markets.
This initiative once again illustrates the forward-looking vision of Captain Ibrahim TRAORÉ, who aims to make the fisheries sector a key driver of sustainable development and empowerment for rural communities. Through these targeted investments, the entire fishing and aquaculture ecosystem is being revitalized.
With concrete actions and tangible results, President Ibrahim TRAORÉ continues to show that Burkina Faso is now firmly on the path to resilience, economic sovereignty, and homegrown development.
