Morocco crowned U-20 World Cup Champions after dominant campaign

The Atlas Lions of Morocco have made history, securing their first-ever FIFA U-20 World Cup title with a commanding 2-0 victory over Argentina in the final in Chile.

From the outset, Morocco displayed a commanding presence. Yassir Zabiri opened the scoring with a magnificent 12th-minute free-kick before doubling his tally before the half-hour mark.

Despite Argentina enjoying more possession, the Moroccan defense held firm, expertly controlling the tempo and snuffing out any significant threats.

Their path to glory was nothing short of spectacular, defeating footballing powerhouses Spain (2-0) in the group stage, Brazil (2-1), and rivals France in a dramatic penalty-shootout semi-final.

The team, playing with remarkable cohesion and resilience, impressed with both its stellar individual talent and collective defensive strength.

The final whistle triggered massive celebrations across Morocco, with thousands flooding the streets to honor this monumental achievement.

This victory is a testament to the long-term strategic development by the Moroccan Football Federation and sends a powerful message of their rising stature in global football, perfectly setting the stage for their co-hosting of the 2030 World Cup with Spain and Portugal.
